Punta Gorda Isles / Burnt Store Isles
Punta Gorda Isles (PGI) is a deed-restricted, waterfront community. All homes, with the exception of a few located on St. Andrews Golf Course, are on wide canals (no less than 100') with access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. This is truly a boater's paradise. Where else can you live with your boat 20' from your back door and have quick access to the best boating in Florida. The City of Punta Gorda maintains the seawalls and canals, which is a huge benefit to the local homeowners.
A wide price range of resale homes, condos and new construction is available in Punta Gorda Isles. Time to the Harbor, age of the home, view of the water and size of seawall all contribute to the difference in pricing. Home sizes range from modest, 1,800 sqft bungalows to 4,000+ sqft manses built on double lots.
Burnt Store Isles (BSI) is a deed-restricted, waterfront community with Twin Isles Country Club (formerly Burnt Store Country Club) situated in the center of the community. It's rare to find a beautiful waterfront community where you can dock your boat behind your home and then walk across the street to the Country Club for a round of golf or just to socialize.
Burnt Store Isles is smaller and newer than Punta Gorda Isles with approximately 1,000 canal-front and 400 golf-course homes and lots. It's boating access to Charlotte Harbor is via Alligator Creek, a natural river. It is exactly like Punta Gorda Isles in that all waterfront properties are in the Canal Maintenance System. This means that the City of Punta Gorda maintains the canals and seawalls.
Real estate opportunities in Burnt Store Isles consist of waterfront and golf-course properties including single-family residences, villas and condos as well as vacant lots. Houses in Burnt Store Isles are typically custom-built, ranging from modest bungalows to upscale, Mediterranean-inspired homes; many of which are located on beautifully landscaped grounds.
